About your Trainer and Mentor
I'm Jackson Taylor, the founder and director of Shinrai Mentoring. If you decide this is a good fit for your life, you will have the opportunity to have me as your physical, mental, and lifestyle trainer.
My journey officially started when I was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 5 and was fully unaware of the obstacles I had to go through from Transition from child to adolescence to Adulthood. I aim to help you decide what you want your journey to look like by guiding you past your obstacles and listening to my stories as well.
The first step I took towards starting and running this business since the start of 2023 was signing up for a gym membership when I was 15 years old. I went from being this skinny teenager to trying many different gyms and eventually reaching my full potential ever since I joined Arruda to train under muchly highly regarded Coach. It taught me proper mentoring in social situations, on top of getting better with my exercise movements and physical strength/endurance. I'm currently on a developing Journey with the MMA program at that Gym.
In that time, outside of my gym training, I felt the motivation to teach it to others. That's why I chose to study at Queensford College throughout my final years of schooling to obtain my Certificate 3 in Fitness. Whilst I was there, I learned so much from my Lecturer Callum Thomson. His teaching skills helped me get set up for the next big stage of when finishing school and still trying to find myself, I worked hard to complete a Certificate 4 in Fitness and transform myself into a Qualified Personal Trainer at the Australian Institute of Fitness. Throughout my time there, I learned so much, specifically from one of my Lecturers, Nick Wood. His guidance and knowledge gave me the confidence to know what I wanted to do after graduating.
Some of the more Lifestyle influencers throughout my time of training and studying to start Shinrai. Was started from the age of 10 and had the opportunity to access Therapy through a lifesaving international therapist in Daniel Sin. He taught me many key life skills about how to behave towards situations and how to perceive situations coming my way. going to social community groups. Portions of my schooling helped in a big way, particularly being able to travel to Mimily in the APY Land, but most importantly, make long-lasting connections with the Indigenous community. This section would not be complete without mentioning my loving and caring parents, who helped and put up with all my highs and lows in life. Through being so fortunate to be born under the guidance, I have had the opportunity to do all of the above, plus travel to places like America, Europe and Japan. Travelling to those places changed my perception of life after learning about the history, doing some of the calculated discomforting activities, but boosted my entire perception of multiculturalism.
When I first started and debuted as the owner of this business in 2023, I had the great privilege to train some like-minded individuals who are younger than me and who experienced many similar obstacles when I was their Age. See the testimonials. Externally, whilst running a business, I have taken extra courses to invest in my learning and development to become a better influencer than I was before in your life. I have done courses like NDIS Worker Screening Check, Business Coaching course at Fireup Coaching, Working with Children Checks, and regularly renew my First Aid and CPR training. And I am continuously learning as I go along. I have done that by taking Extra study to gain accreditation through the Acting Fitness Body "Fitness Australia", commonly referred to as "AusActive". I was privileged in having the opportunity to be able to learn from quality experts such as Andrew Simmons and Craig Harper whom I have a lot of respect in how well established they are but also giving me a bit understanding towards my learning and hearing how some of their experiences lead them to becoming Fitness and Health Professionals. I also got the opportunity to get a feel for where I am in my Knowledge and Understanding of How Different Diversities work within the NDIS, about where I need more understanding and what I am really good at.
